I always thought they used an ejection capsule. I built a Monogram one in some weird-ass scale as a kid. By the time the big one came out I wasn’t really doing aircraft much. I used to see them offered at contests, but haven’t in quite a whle. Time for a rerelease?

I think the Aardvark featured a fully enclosed capsule.
