Real or “paper panzer”?

Seen in a photo of a column on the march, but I’m not sure if that was a single workshop conversion using up a wrecked Luchs, or if more than one was made…

One was definitely built, most likely a field conversion. There is video of it during the surrender of 17.Panzer-Division to US forces in Czechoslovakia. But there is no indication as to whether the turret actually rotated. The Puma turret was originally designed (in a slightly modified form) to be fitted to the Luchs successor, the VK16.02 Leopard, so theoretically the turret ring diameters are the same. But the video seems to indicate another plate welded on top, so perhaps they cut the entire turret ring/plate off the Luchs to mount the turret.

I want a 232 with a KV-2 turret. (I just made that up.)

Having done a little research on this beast, I am interested. I think almost all human beings are attracted to the bizarre, strange, and unusual. Many model builders collect Rommel’s funnies, the cobbled vehicles of heavy tank battalion 653, and every other weird thing the Germans threw into the cauldron or war. This vehicle will make a nice addition to that sort of collection.

On the other hand, I do not think many of these models will actually get built. It is a “some day” model because of the complexity and esoteric nature.

We’ve already got the Asuka Luchs, and it doesn’t get much better than that.

Well of course it can, the Asuka Luchs doesn’t have an interior, which Miniart would definitely do.

How similar is this interior to the sd kfz 231 8 rad?

@jfeenstra do you have a link for that ?
