This is a fascinating conversion! I cannot verify it, but I suspect the internal-shield Centurion turret was actually a test of the concept before committing to it on Chieftain, rather than the other way around. Still, it might just tempt me into building a Cent in the near future…

They do have this turret (what’s left of it anyway) near the carpark at the Tank Museum. The information board next to it did say something along those lines, but I was being rushed to get back into the car and leave so I didn’t take a photo. Unfortunately.

During my “Centurion Phase,” about two decades long, I pondered doing that turret. I didn’t think I had the mojo to stick with it. Now I’m sure I don’t. Nice offering I may consider in the future.

Is this the same as the Centurion Action X?

Read page 1 of the instructions. The Centurion ‘Action X’ was an FVRDE project featuring the CMT design.
