Great job. When I joined the MN Guard in '91 our CAV Troop was getting rid of them for M60A3s.

Excellent job. Nice build as well. Finish came great along with the weathering and extra gear.

Georg, wonderful model for 50th Country! I like the salute to Fox. Seeing US tanks in such camo is too cool. Thanks for posting.

Outstanding build Georg! Great article, too. Very informative and well written. Your model looks excellent. Good tight build and superb paint combined with comprehensive but restrained weathering. All in all a marvelous project.

Agreed, Matt, Georg really brings the subject to life and offers modelers some crazy-good technical stuff.

Great work overall, but I’m gonna throw a little criticism in the mix, with all due respect. Why didnt you use the actual MERDC pattern and colors? They are all supposed to be the same - even the crew chalked and painted varieties will be close. Same pattern, four colors. Your colors are way off for either MERDC desert red or desert grey. The tan looks close (although a little dark), but the brown is way off. And where is the fourth color? I understand how hard it is to get the colors right with MERDC, but they don’t have to be perfect - only close. You did such a nice job on everything else. If this is what you served on, you should do another one. Those black stripes on the barrel would bother me. The actual pattern has no black on the barrel.

Great work. I have this kit in my stash and keep meaning to get to it. I crewed the M48a5 with 1/102 armor before we transitioned to the M60a3. Can you point me in the direction of that Willoughby Article you reference, I would love to read it.

Thanks!
