Takom is really hitting some home runs lately. I’ll get this one for sure.

@Bodeen , agreed!

At anyone, is the only difference between the two the armament?

I think it’s a smart move to include a sprue or two of storage stuff as a way to distinguish the kit from the already existing 100000000000000000000 kits of StuG and StuH III in 1/35. Cheap also, as a typical Dragon kit would have several times that in unused parts.

I must agree that the addition of stowage is really nice of Takom to include. Even though I am not a WWII German armor fan, this one looks interesting. However, I have read that Takom Stug kits have some inaccuracy issues (like a couple of mms short here and there) according to some experts: https://www.track-link.com/forums/site_blogs/47918/flat and https://www.track-link.com/forums/site_blogs/51574/flat.

Providing “clutter” in a kit doesnt make it accurate - ALL of Takoms StuG hulls are inaccurate in length - DML & RFM
provide accurate StuG kits - less clutter more accuracy !

Online reports of major accuracy issues with Takom Panzer III hulls have dissuaded me from purchasing any Takom Panzer III based models. If the people at Takom want to sell me Panzer III hulls, they need to fix any major accuracy issues found in previous Panzer III hull models and convey that fact on the box. “New and improved hull with even greater accuracy!” Something.

I have acquired 6 or 7 Takom kits in the last three months. I like what I see. Takom Panzer III based models sell at a really attractive price point. I would like to purchase some. The inclusion of extra stowage is a fantastic idea. Two in one kits are an excellent idea.

What about the accuracy of other Takom hulls such as the Tiger I, Tiger II, Panther, Panzer I. Are there are reported accuracy issues with any of those?

For all things Tiger I model, I recommend visiting tiger1.info. My current understanding is that Tiger Is in the Big Box are pretty good but will benefit from some small modifications.

I cannot recall reading about any significant problems with Takom Panthers or Tiger IIs.

There are at least two discussions on Missing Lynx detailing major problems with Takom Panzer III hull based models. One person in these forums reported that the Takom Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.N w/ Winterketten is much improved.

Thanks for that. The worst offense seems to be the cupola needs to be rotated a bit to place a vision block facing front and center. Also a minor shock absorber issue. It also has info on the other two Tiger Is in the Big Box so this will be helpful. Good to know there are no major issues.

What kind of inaccuracies? So the model doesnt go together well or historical? Thanks
