Something that has stuck with me from playing World of Tanks and seeing configurations of tanks with outrageous fantasy main guns is to parody the equally-never-fielded Schmalturm design and refer to those vehicles jokingly – for example, the Panther with an L/100 gun as the “PzKpfw V mit Lolturm”.

Wasn’t there some discussion of mounting a 105mm gun, but there were issues that made that infeasible?
I seem to remember reading something about that.
