Complete ‘Big Ed’ Photo Etch. PE panel alignment challenging. Final color paint was a grainy disaster… as last resort, I gently rubbed round Q Tip starting in center of panels. Very time consuming but saved the build.( I think?) Although I won’t adapt that as a future weathering method? Hope I learned the right lessons:)? Full off white interior detail. I think the acetate dash instruments insert panel even displayed a speedometer needle…? You’ll need that pencil camera your dentist uses to find it now. Had to hand paint the Czech insignias as yes, I put the decals on backwards…I think I used a full set of resin tires as well.
Always wanted one of those beasts. You did an awesome job on it. What paint did you use and what color? Love it!
Clarence that thing is a monster! Too bad about the paint and decal issues but I think you saved it. Any chance you took some interior photos before final assembly?
Sure looks great, and I think a bit of rough paintwork is no problem on Russian or East European monsters…
Often think those Russian engineers develop these kind of machines just for us… love them!
A beautifully built BART! (Big Ass Russian Thing). I love Russian 8 wheelers and this is one of the kings. What an excellent job you have done on this big gun! Whatever flubs you may have made, you saved it. It looks outstanding. You put a huge amount of time and effort into this model and it shows… Anyone who uses an entire Big Ed set should get a medal. More photos please!
Did the Russians build the DANA? Thought it was a Czech design…… it is a beautiful beast whatever the case may be. I ordered one last night lol!!!
Sorry Rich, you’re right, it’s Czech.
Great looking big hulk of an artillery piece! You might have messed up the painting a bit but it looks excellent all the same.
