Hi guys , have a nice weekend. I recently completed a 1/72 scale model of the Polish Firefly IC. This project took a tremendous amount of effort because finding a good 1/72 scale Firefly kit these days isn’t easy. So, I built it using the following components:
- Resin hull from Germany’s modeltrans, and a resin turret equipped with the Mk.2 panoramic commander’s cupola.
- Chassis, hull patch armor, etc. from the new Dragon kit.
- RB Models 17-pounder metal gun barrel.
- Photo-etched parts for the Firefly hull from the Dragon White Box event-limited kit.
- Radio box for the Firefly IC turret and hull stowage bin from the old Dragon kit.
- Self-made metal parts: commander’s direct sight device, loader’s hatch restrictor, and all lifting rings on the hull.
- Putty used to repair shrinkage on the right side of the turret.
- 3D printed parts: gun mantle (with self-applied cast texture), headlight frames, onboard tools, T54E1 tracks, and the hatch for the Mk.2 cupola.
- Resin stowage and a figure.
- Metal weight added inside the hull for balance.
