I don’t think it can be as I do not see any fittings on the mantlet. The A2 obviously changed on this and I believe the fire control system must have changed to start using IR.

I just wonder that as the US, and the western nations in general were playing catch-up with the Soviet searchlight/IR capabilities, or rather, that’s how I see it, I would think it possible, that if it was decided to at least test the 18" searchlight on the M103A1, then a version of the supports as devised for the M48, could have been fitted to the M103A1 easily enough. Could.
But without any pictorial evidence, or other come to that, I probably won’t go there - though I still think it would look impressive.
