The Trumpeter (with ballast base) and Sabre are not interchangeble, I am affraid. As a matter of fact: bin the Trumpy rails. They are horrible.

Concur. Dark is good. The majority of the DRB motive power were coal burning Dampflokos (steam locos) and the soot got on everything. And when it got on the ground, the trains stirred up sooty dust.

These boxcars are all a “boxcar red” or “freightcar brown” color. Note how sooty they are.
