3D Printed XM246!

Didnt see anyone else post this…

Was curious about some 3D printed tanks on Ebay and ran across this. Having worked on the program in the earliest days of my engineering career, I am thrilled at the possibility of building one in 35th. I had long ago given up on the prospect of scratching one up. When the project was cancelled, the team was giving away dummy rounds (they had pallets of the stuff =D) and I was fortunate enough to get one which I still have. A local model/machine/fabrication shop built a 1/4 scale motorized and radio controlled model for G-D as a marketing tool. Recently found out that that model is currently in the Patton Armor museum, possibly still incorrectly labeled as that abomination that was the XM247 Sgt York (such a waste of a revered and honorable name). Yeah, I’m still bitter G-D lost that contract =/

Anyway, I ordered one…$155 shipped to SoCal from China. We shall see and I will post an in-box review when it arrives. If it’s any good, I may order a second one and build a “whiffer” on an Abrams chassis.

‘Looking very forward to what this turns out like; I can be a sucker for experimental armour.
