Y’all welcome, it was interesting the contrast between this year’s show and last year’s. Last year there was a similar number of exhibits (north of 1,000 probably) and while there were maybe 5 or 6 mind-blowers the overall standard wasn’t as high as this year’s, although this year I didn’t see one individual that totally knocked my socks off - a few came close though. Sam may disagree.
Although possibly mis-identified, we spotted a tight huddle of black-shirted heavyweight bouncers lurking on an upper level around the time there was an announcement requesting The Judges to come on down. Any thoughts I had to join the club and exhibit next year faded away.
Strange as it may seem, what I’ll remember for a long time are; the pixilated Flanker camo, the F86 Sabre, the Beall tanker, and the Churchill AVRE 1:16 scratch build.
(Torsten – there was one disadvantage to the hot Spring weather. Sam & I both had to dump our booty in our cars before re-entering the show. As it was in the grounds of a race-course there was no shade at all, so after a while I began to foresee warping melting parts in our future. Couldn’t leave the windows slightly open with massive thunder-clouds looming on the horizon)
