ZIMI MODEL 2025 Flagship Release is ACV-P Amphibious Combat Vehicle (Personnel) in 1/35 scale.
Whoa! This is a pleasant surprise!
I agree. Everything to this point looks very encouraging. Interested in seeing the sprue trees but likely one for 2026 purchase list.
There were a few subtle clues here and there:
Great news!
Be interesting to see the sprue layout and whether there are other versions, ACV 30 anyone?
HO yes!!!
I really like the look of this vehicle but thought we would be waiting another while yet for one in plastic- so this is great news!
One never knows, do one?
That’s awesome I was way off base with my guess.
TinyDog01
Yet another RPG magnet.
And it is bigger than a Stryker… by a couple of meters
It’ll probably be fitted with the trophy system when it gets to the full roll out
The base version is inadequately armed; less so than a WW2 LVT, which often mounted at least two .50 cal. MGs. I also have to wonder why a Chinese model manufacturer is allowed to pick-apart a vehicle whose basic mission may very well be to fight China for control of the Pacific. It is a certainty that whatever information the kit manufacturer has was then forwarded to the Chinese military intel folks. Models are “only” models, but there is a real world out there.
I promise you that the Marines didn’t allow these guys to ”pick apart” anything. There is enough open source info out there these days to let anyone design a kit. Also, at the end of the day, this is a lightly armed and armored taxi. Not like we are talking about a B-21 here. Rest easy Zappa.
You make a good point. Still, I am uneasy regarding the vehicle’s armament, even with the 30mm turret. It must be remembered that the Japanese most feared the USMCs tank force, especially when the marines adopted their “corkscrew and blowtorch” tactics to weed out Japanese fortifications and caves. One would hope that our marines will not have to re-learn such lessons with their blood. China does have a foothold in the Solomon Islands and are on Guadalcanal as we speak. Perhaps they are copying Japan’s attempt to interdict communications with our Aussie and Kiwi allies. The chessboard is being set.
Appart politics or strategic view, an other 8x8 kit, K808, ACV-P and i hope an EItan by meng or RFM.
That’s cool , not for my money.
Nice to see that beast coming in plastic and hope for no major issues in the kit when delivered. Will get one for sure, more so when also Spanish Marines are going to get these for their business as a replacement for the Tuna Boats.
Due end of this month, January, $40US. Spanish Marines may be one of the four decal options…
Wait, is that 18BRAVO in the decals…??
For what you get in this kit they could probably charge twice as much.
