AFV Club T34/76 Model 1942 Factory No.112

Moving forward on this interesting kit. As we know it offers clear turret and upper hull. I’m just not a fan of that much clear as it is too ‘toy like’ for me. Many others have used this feature for excellent builds but I’m going for a removable engine cover and a few open hatches to reveal the excellent internal details. This will be my first winter camo which I hope will reflect all my studying and reading on how ‘it’s done’? I’m adding Fruilmodel metal tracks and selective PE from ABER and E.T. model. I don’t think I’m brave enough to leave one of the front ‘fenders’ off…. maybe I’ll just mangle a PE one? I have changed from trying to use ALL the PE on the sheet as IMHO…..some of the parts are sometimes so small that, well I think it reflects the PE manufacturer trying to strut their stuff more than what can actually be functionally ‘seen’ under any paint? Making the spring suspension ‘work’ was only partially successful? (aka NOT) Nothing that some invisible glue band aids wont ameliorate? The usual replacement of brass for plastic handrails. I enjoyed soldering and making a set of fuel drums until I discovered that the rear mounted ‘box fuel tanks’ (call them what I will..) were more version correct? I’ll update as ‘progress’ permits…the real fun will be the upcoming winter camo which so many have previously done so beautifully… the bar has been set.. Happy Holidays
