Why in the world does Airfix not release a 1/48th Blenheim Mk.IV???!!!

Because they chose better subjects  . Admittedly I’m a cold war RAF jet fan and a happy camper. Three out of five - the Jag, the Phantom and the Canberra - will find their way to my stash. Anything but more Tomcats is a blessing from any manufacturer. It’s a lovely bird, but over exposed IMHO.

The retooled Ju 52 might find a home with me even though I dont do 1/72 nowadays as I loved the original kit as a kid and the corrugated skins of those early Junkers besides the fact it looks a very nice tooling.

There’s loads more too, have a look here:

Maybe a new 1/48 Tornado is too much to wish for?

I’ll definitely be getting a Canberra or two. Probably the Ju52 which was a bit of a surprise. I’m hoping for a Cretan campaign option in the markings.

Disappointed they haven’t scaled down the Jag to 1/72 but we’ll have to see what they do next year.

Good to see the Pearl Harbour set and Kate back. Probably get a couple of those. Would still like to see them do more Pacific aircraft in 1/72 though.

Looks like they’ve done a better job on the 1/48 FG.1 than they did on the smaller scale. Got the nose gear leg right and intakes have the vents they missed. I would get it, but I already have 2 of the Hasegawa/Revells and it’s not my usual scale anyway.

I’ve been waiting for a new tool 1/48 Sea Venom for a long time and the Classic Airframes kit is too hard to find for too much money if anyone at Airfix is listening or reading. The Phantom looks stunning to add and will definitely be getting 1 or 2 when released.

I read on Cybermodeler that the Phantom isn’t due out until October. Anyone hear a different date?
