I’m doing up a Land Rover Defender Ambulance and I’m looking for the emergency lights that sit on the top. Google only comes up with light bar types. Anyone got a link to where I can get some please

Accurate-Armour made some that are perfect. I know because I bought them for a Land Rover Ambulance conversion I want to do. They are not on eBay, but I did buy a set before Accurate-Armour went out of business, along with everything else I thought I might ever need. If I find them in the next few days, you’re welcome to two of them.

If I can’t find them, I have two that are very similar (just slightly tapered) from the 1/35 Polizei Trabi. You just need to tint them blue. Those I can send any time.

When I’ve needed colored lights for builds I’ve used these. They even have a nice raised ring at the base you can paint and the piece inside helps sell the look of a bulb inside. Last build I used some on was a 1/35 diorama I was building.

They should be easy enough to make from some clear sprue or acrylic rod plus transparent blue paint. The main difficulty would be polishing out any saw marks etc.

Here is one I made from clear sprue . Very simple - cut to size , polish out with various grades of sandpaper then polish with Blue Magic or equivalent. Paint with clear paint of appropriate color.

Have you looked at blue beacons in 1/32? The diecast world may have some options.

As have I, but if you’re getting what you need without the work… You’d have to cut the tops of and remove the scratches - judiciously applied heat often works as well as sanding and is far quicker.
In fact, I used a (very) cut down blue LED for my Maxx Pro years ago, The leads are on top because they were hidden by the sliding armor plate. Note how flat you can actually get them,
Very nice. You can even make a Mars light that way by drilling it out and adding a reflector inside.
I didn’t include any of these on my list because I know I have what Colin needs - it’s bit less work.

Check the model railroad guys . The stuff I used to pull from the train dept was amazing and totally worked in armor modeling

Some of the latest Lionel accessories (such as the ballast tamper) have extremely small roof mounted LEDs. Perhaps you could order replacements lights.
