I just picked up SS Models TAM 2C and im wondering if anyone has built it?
and are there any issues i should look for?
and should i have a tamiya marder on on hand for parts ?
Sadly there are no decals where do i sorce them?

SS models look great in there ads; I purchased there Arjun in 1/35? ; But looking at it after I put it all together, I think it’s closer to 1/32nd. And there lack of decals are A Disapointment ! IMHO there are only one choice as to pick from, although Argentina is if you don’t have another vehicle used by them.

there were 2 companies had tam med tanks from Argentina and i think they are both out of business im thinking of a tamiya Marder 1A2 as a source for parts for the tam 2c

Armaq was one company i found that had a Tam 2c kit that has decals included i wanted to fund out if they sold the decals seperatly
or even if there is a company in agentina that has decals for a 1 35 scale Tam 2C
also is the Tam 2c still in that wierd samd yellow or are they in the standard Argentine army camo
And incase i picked up a tamiya Marder 1A2 as a source of spare parts
I just ordered a 3D print of one off eBay, from SS Model. I understand their vehicles can be hit or miss but all the tracks I’ve gotten from them have been very good.

SS models has some kits that fit right in to my Leopard 2 and Abrams lineages
Accoring to google the over all color used on the Argentine TAM 2C is dark OD something similar to FS 34087 can anyone confirm that?
I have the SSModel 1/35 Argentine TAM and it is decent as is. The turret and hull had a lot of support stems to be removed but shown here already cleaned up. Here they are test fitted.
You can see the extent of the support stems in this photo.
The rest of the parts also had a lot of support stems as well.
As you said, some are hit or miss. This 1/35 Leopard 2PL is also from SSModel and they printed the hull in two halves, front and back. This photo shows the support stems before removing them. This is also how the TAM arrived.
Here you can see the hull halves.
The two halves did not meet flush as seen here. There are huge gaps needing to be filled.
In this photo, you can see that both sides of the hull are raised above the flat surface.
Even after filing and sanding, I still needed to fill the gaps.
The exhaust grills were pretty badly printed and they do not include the mesh screens.

I also have the SSModel 1/35 CV90120 and also a miss.
There were tons of support stems on the right side of the hull as seen here.
Once I removed the support stems, four of the suspension arms were broken. I did not break them, they were broken during shipping I am guessing. Once I removed the support stems, they just fell loose.
The whole right side is filled with dimples from where the support stems were removed from. I used at the time, brand new Stedi snippers to remove the stems and then a new blade for the cleanup but still left tons of dimples. I super glued the suspension arms back together. I hope that is strong enough to hold the weight once the full kit is together.
The left side had no support stems and was printed clean.
To hide the dimples, I got a set of Hobby Boss CV9040C side hull armor from Trumpeter customer service so mine will be what if as the CV90120 doesn’t use those specific side hull armor. The Hobby Boss side hull armor fit the SSModel CV90120 perfectly.
I also added the Hobby Boss CV9040C front armor. I had to cut the Hobby Boss glacis armor to shape and sand down the top of the CV90120 and the bottom of the Hobby Boss glacis armor parts to fit properly but after a little work, they fit perfectly as well. As you can see, I also removed the thermal sight ball from the top of the turret. I plan to add an RWS instead of the thermal sight.

Nice work so far. I also have this in my stash and you have some good ideas to help fix the problems. I’ve also decided to make mine a “what-if”. Keep it up!.
