Too bad you dumped those models, I would have taken them off your hands and attempted a rebuild or use them as spare parts…..
Bad doggies!

Yes, I would have kept the broken models and have added spare parts to them to make Sci-Fi hover tanks, spaceships, robot armor, destroyed Sci-Fi tanks, etc…perhaps enter them in some Sci-Fi campaigns.
Next time, add some heavy books or dumbbell weights to the bottom of the cabinet to prevent it from tipping over. I live in “Earthquake California” and I weigh down the very bottom shelf with heavy books and objects like glass paperweights, sacrificing the bottom display base for stability. If it tips over, it might break the glass, but at least it was weighted and stable for a long while.
It didn’t break, though. All that glass…
Now, the balance issue needs some improvement. I placed all of mine up against a wall and side-by-side so they are harder to tip. I know they provide that little strap to screw into the top of the case and then to the wall, but I’m not trusting that.
I did take the seat from the Israeli Nsgmachon because it was still intact. I think I took the tank crewman from the BT-7 as well.
I will have to say my cats have been very well-behaved. We have three; one only comes in to eat and sleep and never enters my office but the other two often come in to sleep on their chair next to me (yes, they have a chair but it is to keep them off my lap while I work).
Now, the young male did jump on a shelf five years ago and dropped my 251 Stuka Zu Fuss to the floor (where surprisingly it suffered no damage – not even the aiming posts came off!) but after being grabbed by the nape and tossed out the side door has never it attempted again.
My daughter’s kitten is not allowed downstairs as she is a chewer and I have no intention of seeing if that applies to plastics.
I plan on replacing my display cabinets with much larger heavier curio type cases at some point. These tall skinny ones don’t hold much anyway.
Those dogs must be part Beagle.
Anyway look at it as a small Blessing. Now you have an excuse to enlarge your STASH.
Yes just what I was thinking!
Nah, I reccon it was them two dogs, take them along to that bbq as main ingredient…
Lol, I have in certain cultures that dogs are a delicacy!
Oof, that’s rough.
My GSD once chewed up a Bandai jeep sprue when she was a puppy. Still miss that girl.
I was told by a Navy boy who did a tour of SE Asia that cat is a bit gamey and stringy.
That is awful. You have my sincere condolences.
Yeah look it’s a slam dunk, a cursory forensic inspection clears the pooches of any culpability (they’ll plead the OJ defence anyway), you need an exorcism. Although the shoes look fairly shifty too.
Awful to see! All that work. Hopefully you can salvage something. As others have said, at least the cabinets survived. That could have made cleaning up worse. Looks like the trainers cushioned the fall.
The dogs definitely look guilty.
Have kept dogs and cats in the past, so know the look they both give!
Luckily, I’ve never had any serious pet related accidents. Few minor things, but nothing that couldn’t be fixed easily.
I didn’t consider the possibility of some other force not of this world that could have knocked it over.
Yeah when I interrogated them they just sat there with their tongues out wagging their tales.
The shoes belong to my oldest son, he has dozens more in his room and the garage. He’s a sneaker head, Over 100 pairs I think. I guess everyone had their stash of some kind!
Good job he left those lying where he did!
I know this sounds silly, but here in the Pacific Northwest they recommend earthquake proofing your house. No one does but it is recommended. The cabinet could be attached to the wall by a mounting plate that attaches to the cabinet top.
Pets sometimes make mistakes. I’ve had dogs and cats and the best thing to do is pet proof stuff. Attaching the top of the cabinet to a beam wall at the top is easy and cheap insurance and Ikea stuff is designed for it.
Changing subject slightly, you can get extra shelves and brackets for that unit on Etsy or eBay.
