I read a story from one of the ejection-pod engineers about them testing the pod on a rocket-sled using a drugged-up bear as passenger. He finished by saying he happily strapped the bear in, knowing that HE wasn’t going to be the guy at the other end opening the pod to a scared and upset bear!
