Did the original A-24/ A-24A have the single or twin .30 cal. set up for the back seater? Was basically the SBD-3 and from what I’ve seen those started with the single and switched to the twin on the production line and had kits to retrofit early ones in the field. Seeing the A-24s shipped to the Pacific were clapped out (engines were near houred out) and missing parts I doubt they had the latest/ greatest MG set up. ( Sounds like a 30-40 Krag and a bandolier of ammo would not have been beyond belief.) Also, I know the tail hook was removed, but what about the mount? (A-24A and B) Few photosI’ve found are from angles it is hard to say.
Looks like those assembled in Australia in December 1941 had twin guns at the rear…(see Major Davies official report mentioning rear guns)

But the one seen here has only one MG

Just for the record, that is a Mk17 depth charge. ( Round band on fins and hydrostatic fuse on side) Someone is going fishing. Any guesses on what is on the wing rack? Smoke marker?
Interesting info in that blog… plus other two parts. Did not see mention of twin.30s in the quote by Maj. Davies. I saw “neither the front guns nor the rear guns will fire.”, referring to the forward firing .50s and flex .30 (s) as a group. 3 or 4 “guns” Could be single or twin.
