Like I said, repare shop time… was rather pleased with the way the lower hull, wheels and tracks looked, so wanted to keep that intact.

Had used Floy washes on them as experiment…

Which meant some serious surgery…

So now I can strip that upper hull to do it’s paint job again..

When you get it back to bare styrene, make sure you wash it well to remove mold release agent and skin oils from the plastic. Handle it with rubber gloves. This will give your paint the best chance for perfect adhesion. I use window cleaner with ammonia to wash my model pre-paint. I soak it down, then rinse in the kitchen sink with the sprayer nozzle with cool water. Then let dry before airbrushing. I never even use primer and have never had a problem with paint lifting.

I have built a few Amusing Hobby kits. The plastic feels a little greasy to me, so I use the ammonia based window cleaner to wash the sprues before starting. That way I can do a lighter wash after assembly, before painting, so I don’t break anything off!

Yeah I’ve noticed that on my T80UM2 as well, might be the plastic is trapping the oils from your skin and that’s why it feels oily/greasy. I’m not sure though that is just a guess

@bwilt that Badger is looking good!

@Gonzalo_Cordero I built one of those M6s a while back - they are a lot of fun! It takes a lot of OD paint to cover as it’s so big…

@Dan that mine-exploder is a beast! Must have come with extra-strength aspirin for the headache all those bangs would cause..
