First kit I ever bought with individual track links in the box!
Them and the Lindberg T55 were top of the line in Soviet models then. The T55 won kit of the year back then. It too is a dog now, long ago surpassed in quality and accuracy.
They do include the mounting tabs as PE parts and a styrene molded log w/pretty good wood grain details. The straps are easy to make out of left over PE fret or masking tape.
BMP-2 details, the BMP-1 uses the same parts.
The only drawback of the kit are the tracks. Trumpeter has individual link tracks with separate guide horns. This makrs it a very time consuming build. Trumpeters BMP-2 on the contrary has vinyl tracks that REALLY fit. I bought these as replacement.

Yes, they provide the eyelet at the end of the rear deck but there are two retaining loops on the deck for the strap- this isn’t moulded or in the PE. As you said though it is easy to make. I think I just drilled a few small holes and put in some thin brass wire.
Ahhh okay thank you. I took one look at some tracks from Takom like that and was like “Nope, nuh-uh. Friul here I come!”
I replaced the tracks on my BMP-2 above with old Esci (maybe Dragon) indi-link tracks from a sprue I bought off eBay. I also used the sprockets older as well since the Trumpeter ones were of a different pitch and the tracks didn’t fit them. The whole sprue cost around $20.
Did you use painter’s blue tape to build the strap?
Probably or some tape like that- it was ages ago!
I just noticed something else the Trumpeter kit missed- tie down/equipment straps on the turret.
Not difficult to add- I just used some brass rod.
Is that chipping I see over much of that BMP??
It looks to me like the crappy sand paint has chipped and worn through, showing the original green below.
Some really nice detail pics of the rear doors etc.
Especially the fuel gauges and piping
Cracking looking example- thanks for the pics.
If you are talking about in the red circle, that is a firing port, like on the sides. There are no gauges on the rear door fuel tanks themselves. I am assuming the fuel gauges are in the driver’s area.
It is only on the left side door.
You can see it on the exterior with a glass portion on the top and the hole for the gun on the bottom.
Oh lol thanks Gino. I didn’t realize that.
