More work on the lower hull. Fitted the front front dozer blade and and the drop arms with various bits and pieces.
Underside is nicely detailed as well.
Will start on the upper hull details tomorrow

Thought I would start this and get it out the way …
Who doesn’t love stupidly small bits of PE ….
Over 3/4 won’t be seen, but you know their done.
Lol….. it’s a curse
I have the T-90 in my stash, and I am building the T-64.
I can’t figure out why they molded this detail in place on the T-64 but chose PE for the T-90
Just to annoy me probably lol
The funny thing is the T-64 kit predates the T-90 one so you maybe right lol
I think it was a good idea and they have succeeded. ![]()
Hi all,
I’m still working out the plinth for my Desert Rats monument, but spent a few pleasant hours speed-building the tank to go on top! I made all the detail changes that I could see, mainly the Type D engine deck and the later Mk2 cupola (robbed from a Tamiya Churchill kit!) as well as deleting a number of details that aren’t on the franken-tank for whatever reason. Paint will flow…
Built up nicely mate … looks good. ![]()
When I was up Norfolk-way the other week I stopped by the monument and measured it properly. An hour of very productive CAD later I had an accurate 1:35 computer model that a friend has kindly printed for me - the result is fantastic! It needs the top, and the brick apron, but is well on the way to completion.
That looks really nice Tom…. I don’t think those real bricks would have come even close to that look .. will look great painted up.
Thanks John! I must admit I was dreading trying to glue individual bricks all straight and flush…
Yeah the finish on it is very precise and uniform…..would have been very difficult with those loose bricks to get that.
Ok…. PE hell is over … for the time being …. Turret is done ..
Can now get on with the build …..
wow
twinkle twinkle little star, eh?
lol ….. yeah …. until primed !!
I admire your patience with those. Were there extras in the set or just enough for what you needed? I can’t imagine how many of those I would lose….
10 spare for part PE24
But, you get these as part PE2 but are slightly different for a different variant ? And not used…
One of the worst parts of modern soviet armour, I always take your approach and just slowly work on it on the side of everything else
