Thanks! Yes, without this set it is one big visible empty space in there.
On Primeportal there are a lot of nice pictures of the Fuchs…
Doorwindows are visible on this one, nearly all made models have closed up windows, because that’s the ony option Revell gives… ![]()

Offcourse I want it to look different… ![]()
So a piece of paper on the raised bits, running a pencil along it, cut that out, transfer it to a piece of plastic card, run your pencil around it and cut it out…
The doorhandle was a bit thick
After adding some plasticcard strips and other bits… ![]()
That is the wrong version for the UN TPz Fuchs. You are showing the A8 variant with add-on armor; the doors are too heavy as a result and have to be opened mechanically.
You can use this as a reference. It already has tires with a new tread pattern, but the rest should be correct. The arrows mark areas that are incorrectly depicted in the Revell kit.
Thanks for pointing out the differences, I had noticed it was a different type of Fuchs but didn’t know even the doors would be different…
As the Faun itself is already different from the picture, and now my Fuchs will be to, ( and I intended to keep 1 door opened on both, although it being the co-drivers doors so the view from 1 side would still be like the picture) it becomes more and more clear I am not going to be an as exact builder as some of you.
I needed a Faun with trailer an a Fuchs, no idea about A1 or A8 or whatever, I never really bother with that…
I add details that I see on a picture of a Fuchs and add them cause I like it..
So I’ll leave it to this campaign’s organiser to judge on my entry …
These are minor details that can be quickly corrected. You’ve already accomplished so much—giving up isn’t an option. I’d love to see the finished work.
You are good with it how it is Bert … Im more interested in a photo representation - which equates to nicely ![]()
V.Z @V1kt0R makes some great reference points for the Fuchs though, so others will benefit from reading about it.
Indeed, if one wants to build a really accurate Fuchs I think V1kt0r will be able to give lots of help ![]()
So, I continued with the doors…
This is what they looked like now…
And this is what I wanted them to look like (although very likely also wrong for this version
)
So, after playing with some white plastic and wire …
Unfortunately I forgot to bring my 0,3mm wire with me to the campsite so had to make do with what I had, thus a bit thick wiring… ![]()
I am joining this campaign with a Bahrain F-5E from the first Gulf War in 1990. I will take a bit of articitc license as the decals I have show aircraft 682, but the pictures show aircraft 684. In any case I will make the same load out with Mk. 82 bombs and sidewinders. Of cause also a desert airstrip base as in the second reference picture.
More to follow ![]()
Excellent, glad you have joined in Jesper. Looking forward to it … I recently picked up a Kinetic F5A so interested to see how the E builds up ![]()
John, I am using the old Revell/ERTL kit. I will have to change the loadout with stuff from the spares box or other kits.
This sounds interesting. What scale? I love the F-5 with all the possible paint schemes. I look forward to your build.
Wow. Sharp looking build there.
The Universal Carrier has been on the main burner for a while mixed in with day to day stuff but I have been looking at the T90 to keep the drive moving forward…
Got the road wheel tyres done and also the metal bearing surfaces
How it looks with one of the sponsons on.
Have thought about the flying movement and have a nice simple plan for that …
Next up is getting the final few bits on the sponsons then I am doing the tracks and get those fitted and sponsons on.
Here is a picture of the kit. Still some time before the build begins, but at least it is out of the stash ![]()
More work done on both the Fuchs…
As well as the Faun..
Replaced the front window, was coverdd in varnish, stupid misstake, forgot to mask it…
And this will be added as well..
And I wan to turn that load into something like this…
As i am adding all these extra bits I realise I am drifting further and further away from the original photo… so if you think it is to different just say so Johnny, I will take this one out and do something else for this campaign.
I think if you can keep it as it is now and not veer away any further it will be a go ![]()
I’ll try
