A halftrack HETS looks cool. Which parts did you use for the running gear?
Well shoot - something went wrong - seems to have managed to delete the initial point - that in addition to the M1070, @Clement and @HermannB, you might look for the New Ray, Loader model for your tires and wheels:
These are pretty nice - and for the scraper, I think you could pretty easily modify two wheels to have the planetary gears for the front drive wheels -
Very embarrassing! sorry about the messed up posts!
Cheers
Nick
Nick do have the diameter of the wheels? I made mine out of laminated styrene sheet and the diameter is 58 mm.
@HermannB, thanks!
I posted the M1070 to discuss the modified M1070A1 hood configuration, which I got close but not right:
You can see, on the M1070A1, the the front bumper wraps back to the front fender openings, and while close, something above is not correct - And, my “nose” is leaning forward, and should be vertical -
Regarding the running gear, I used the final drives and road wheels from the old Orochi Bradley kits, which came with nice metal tracks:
I looked a the design of some tracked agricultural tractors/dozers for the design, so each axle receives its own bogey, and the two are balanced by a track tensioner -
And, I looked at the loader model - the tires are just under 60mm:
So maybe close enough for your purposes?
@HeavyArty, thanks for keeping this sorted out -
Cheers
Nick
That M1070A1 was an amazing build.
Hi Nick, thanks, that will be close enough. If I hadn´t build the wheels already.
Is this a kind of Mad Max HETS?
