Bundeswehr plans to purchase 60 C-47 F Helicopters in the next years. I hope that we will see a decent kit of the plane then. So what would be a good color for the current sand/tan livery of the US Army?
The light sandy-greenish color is FS34201 and is officially called "Woodland Desert Sage”. It was formerly called SAC Bomber Tan.

I was lucky enough to hoard several bottles in acrylic and enamel - both still available sometimes on the internet. It’s a little dark, but can be lightened, especially given how the actual birds fade as well. As you can see, I lighten it up right in the bottle.
If you can’t find Model Master, not to worry - Humbrol Khaki Drill 72 works equally well.
There are a lot of options out there. Just look it up by the FS #.
