That is the first time that I saw a Chenowth FAV with two 2.75-inch 7-shot rocket pods (14 unguided rockets) on such a small vehicle. Even today’s counter-drone HMMWVs and JLTVs usually mount just 4 AKPWS II guided rockets, but not 14.

It’s not a production FAV and I suspect it might just be a mock-up for a sales fair, based on one of the prototypes or even a standard civvy Chenowth. The chassis has none of the military upgrades you’d expect to see.

This picture was taken at AUSA 1983.
The weapon system above was called RADIRS (Rapid Deployment Integrated Rocket System) It was a light MLRS developed by BEI Defense Systems based on 70mm HAP HYDRA aviation rocket in the 80s.
But I’m digressing…
