Chieftain AVLB Mk6

Right a touch of madness going on here after doing my Chiefy AVRE a while ago I looked at my spare Tamiya hull and thought how hard can it be to do an AVLB? Soooo some plastic card, square rod and some tubes for the rams coming here we go:grinning_face:

Basic tools

A start on the boom trestle.
All this is will be done by eye and photos off the web so if anyone can supply some dimension they will be very welcome:+1:

i would speak to richard lamb he has a master for a mk5 and 6 .

the launching frame is square not round , there is some walk arounds on the net if you cant find anything email me your email and i send you something most of my dimensionare for mk5 mk6 differs slightly.

pick a period why no8/9 bridges the rear saddle and boom and tower is different to BR90 bridging

also you have to think about mine pearsons plough/dozer blade fittings as well .

i was. a AVLB driver and now writting a second book on ARKS and bridgelayers

Ref the plough when I saw one fitted the arse end of the tank was way up in the air with the weight of the boom and plough!

Oh ye of little faith:joy:

Ok a bit more done, after putting a skin on my not so square plastic rod (cheap:roll_eyes: never learn) I’ve got some of the frame done!

I have got to put out a big shout for our resident Armoured Farmer(Ossie) he has given me a shed load of reference material so hopefully I can at least get the basics right!
Away for a bit now so no more till sometime next week:+1:
Thanks
