Convoy! Part 2

Okay, weather forecast for today is fine and warm. I’m working from home, so Lunchtime paint session it is!

Last pics before paint down. Here you can see the modified door openings so the doors are now flush within the openings, not sitting over them. :
Scratch built under cab cargo tray - the kit PE is just too flimsy and actually lacks real detail.

Driver’s Door has been left off so I can add the dash panel. I decided to detail it after all:

A peek behind the curtains:

The missing from kit, scratch built toolbox and a POW can under the passenger seats:

‘Best laid plans of Mice and Men’. Murphy’s Law has struck.

During the painting session, my compressor started coughing and spluttering and then did the Parkinson’s shake… and died…

The rocker switch decided it wanted to break away from the housing:

So now I’m stuck until I can get a replacement. I think I can get a suitable one from an electronics shop, but can’t get there until the weekend.

This is as far as I got:

Needs more black on the roof section, then the rear curtains sprayed.

I still need to add gloss for decals.

Curse you modelling gods!

Technically it is all painted, and the Airfix Scammell kit has no windscreens - so it could be called finished

Oh man that sucks! Still, I agree the truck is built and painted, so I’ll call it done. BUT… I do expect an update pic in the Convoy 3 thread!

Thanks Tom. I will post finished pics here, when it is done. I’ve signed up for pt3 and will do a new kit for that one.
