CRARRV Crew Uniform Query

I am planning to incorporate a 1/72-scale CRARRV model in a ‘military vehicle show’ diorama. Similar to the Bovington ‘Tankfest’, this will be a fictitious venue, with the vehicle entering the main arena, with spectators watching from behind a crowd control barrier. Given that the CRARRV is operated by REME, and that the crew would normally wear camo uniform, would it be equally appropriate for them to wear the black one-piece tank crew overalls?

Thanks,

Paul

I would go with the all-black coveralls; the camouflage uniforms would look more proper in a “field exercise” scenario.

No. They will wear MTP or Combat 95 depending on time frame when crewing them. Once they start doing any real mech work like pack lifts etc when they know they will get covered in crud they will put a pair of denims (overalls) on.
They could also have MTP one piece overalls . Black denims are RTR.

OK, I stand corrected then. It makes practical sense to just wear the overalls when they’re crawling around, working on a vehicle.

Here’s the CRARRV from Tankfest 2016.

And in the field.

Some of the road wheels on the Abbott SPG appear to be in red primer no?

Sorry or is it an AS-90??

Yup. It’s an AS-90 SPG; don’t know why the wheels are red oxide, though…
