Das werk 1/35 VW 181

Been waiting for years for one, even have a vac form. Reminds me of the AK Interactive kits.

There was a guy in town back in the 70s, early 80s, who had one painted up as a staff car and him and his son used to drive around dressed in German uniforms. He was trying to build a group of German vehicles and had the shop where I was working build him a turret for his tank. It had some kind of track setup he found in a scrap yard. We made it so the turret rotated and the barrel went up and down and he shot bottle rockets out the barrel. He was really out there, but had the money! Wayne

From the 18.00 min mark you can see both versions as test shots. This definitly looks ike a WINNER!

Good time to be a Cold War modeller!

I still don’t forgive ACE for their abysmal Munga though - but let’s look on the bright side - we didn’t see an injection-moulded VW 181 coming did we - or at least I didn’t?

I’m already planning a Feldjaeger one!

I was thinking of doing it canary yellow, as the one Monique drove in High School…

I’d also forgotten that the BGS also used them, arguably even more interesting:

I guess I could do a diorama of my roommate changing his tire.

Someday I need to model the day a buddy of mine exploded a 5t split rim in a tire cage one cold morning in the motor pool.
