Oh, absolutely, that’s the same approach I had with the ISU, I kept hull and track assembly separated almost until the very end of the model.

Looks like an interesting kit with three excellent markings to choose from:
- KV-1 "Ruthless "
- KV-1 “Suvorov"
- KV-1 “Fighter"
Mine appears to be a different edition, it has only a single word decal and unfortunately has zero vinyl parts, I’ll post a box picture tomorrow.

There’s just that decal you see on the box, and no vinyl tracks.

This morning I made the 3 hatches.
Good Lord, how tiny can pieces get, and I even realized too late that I made all this just to make them openable which I didn’t need!
