Considering that the Taiwanese would have to worry about HUMINT “deep recon” assets reporting their dispositions and movements in any conflict, visual disguise makes a lot of sense. Sure, some of this probably wouldn’t spoof modern battlefield sensor technology, but the Mark 1 eyeball might not recognize and the agent might not correctly report what is being observed.
