I was just shopping for the latest DSPIAE items (can’t have enough of their stuff!) and I came across this.
If it works like they show it does, that’s amazing!
Just stick your marker in and spray away! And you have the marker for detail painting and touch ups.

It’s actually for regular paint as well. All-in-all a pretty unique idea for an airbrush. If it wasn’t DSPIAE I would have my doubts about it actually functioning well but given that their tools are typically well made and function as they say, it might worth trying it. Not up on their webpage or Aliexpress store yet though, although that typically takes time for them.

I am not convinced… I don’t see how the marker (unless it is a special one) can supply a constant and regular flow of paint. And I guess you need a high pressure to blow that paint off the tip and into the model.
The concept is not new, it’s called external mix and according to airbrushes.com :
The paint and air are mixed outside the airbrush as the air passes over the fluid tip. An external mix airbrush will produce a less atomised spray with a larger dot pattern, and is less capable of fine line work. External mix airbrushes give a coarser, grainier spray and are much more prone to splatter.
Advantage is that it does not require any cleaning.
Awaiting reviews.

I’m not saying that it would provide Iwata quality and I’m not buying one. I have enough high quality internal mix dual action airbrushes to meet all my needs. I was just a bit surprised that the concept would work and impressed with how “innovative” it is. Leave it to DSPAIE. Their tools and concepts are second to none.
