We’ve been staying home for decades- lots of company and food and drink ! If we do go out, it’ll be a relatives or friends house.

Don’t go out this night as the non practiced drunken driver is out!

I haven’t been out for New Year’s Eve in 22 years. We know when we go to bed at 10:00 that it’s going to happen whether we stay up for it or not. Tomorrow morning is going to be 2025 no matter what I do and I’m determined to face it without a raging headache.

Well said … tonight is just another night … New Years eve lost its appeal many moons ago …

On the night shift on my own so don’t care, got tasks to do and then reactive to any faults or alarms that come in while having the pc on so can watch some youtube once everything else is completed.

Agreed. I will have a drink at midnight (usually a finger or two of bourbon; neat, no ice); then call my family in Texas to wish them well in '25, then slide into bed and say “Alright 2025; let’s see how hard I’ll get it in the rear this year…”

I will go to bed in 2024, and wake up in 2025. It’s as simple as that.

Same, bed at 10 cause animals don’t care what’s going on and will wake up around 5.

Jeez what a bunch of old fogies we are, sharing the same attitude to NYE – I guess it’s like Xmas, invented for the kids & the young at heart trying to get laid. Sorry I meant the latter, er just for NYE, not…well actually I do remember a certain future g/f wearing an interestingly abbreviated Santa ensemble…um what was the question again?

We’ll open the Champagne at 10 here in the Midwest and sip some with Christmas cookies and hope our friends and family far away are having fun.

Got the Welch’s Sparkling Grape and some kind of mineral water here. I’m crazy like that.

Wife wanted to go to downtown Nashville, but it’s just so crazy there now. We had our 16 year old daughter there for NYE when she was a baby, but that’s before it became a thing. So many have moved here since then.
