Is the grass loose static ? or torn up from a grass mat ? very effective either way 
I use products offered by Martin Welberg. These are individual grass tufts I lay by hand. His products are top notch. You can purchase them through Scenic Express.

It’s a somber reflective scene .,…but very nicely done…will look very good I think
This keeps getting better with each new element added to it.
Though very somber and maybe not my cup of tea, I must admit, this is outstanding work all round.
