That’s possibly the best grass I’ve ever seen, brilliant work. Nice colour variations and it even gives the impression of a breeze blowing it around. I also like the figure positions and the implication they’re not alone. Bravo :trophy:

thanks

Looks excellent…but, it also looks a little too much like the vehicle was just helicoptered down in place. Maybe some trampled grass around the vehicle, and especially levelled and crushed grass behind, where the vehicle approached from.

as far as I know there were no helicopters present, lol, ty for the constructive feedback, so the way I see it there would be no trampled grass around the vehicle, as they pulled up directly into a new field , I did add trampled grass behind the tank , but I could have made the base longer and put the tank at the front showing much more tracked trampled grass in the rear.

My apologies. I missed the photo with the trampled grass behind.

Fake fur. Very low tech and cheap. A little dusty and dirty here but when clean looks OK.

Which method did you go with? Macrame rope? Fur? Looks really good, I’m just curious what you ended up using.

It was cheap chip brushes , dyed in dark green , cut off and superglued in place, once complete , airbrushed with some dark green and highlited with various light greens and yellows

The grass took many hours over a few weeks , using about 20 chip brushes

If using fake fur you can color it with cheap acrylic paint and use a metal dog brush to work the paint in and prevent clumps. It’s messy but you can also trim it down to the backing to make “dirt” areas. I got the mat from Mendels in San Francisco, you can order swatches and they took it off cost of first order.

Pics: 1 is 1/35 tank on top of the mat. 2 is 28mm figures on the mat. 3 is 1/35 tank on flat surface with mat along side it.
