Probably a silly question but what makes them German hands? Do they come with documentation or a dna test? Something to confirm their provenance from ancestry.com maybe?

There are cultural nuances as to how people hold cigarettes. I can’t speak for how it was back then, back Germans (proles mainly) in the 80’s would eschew the “American” way of holding them. Most of the ones I knew would hold it between their thumb and forefinger with the lit end toward their palm, and curl the other fingers around. Think “okay” with the other three fingers curled to match the forfinger.
That said, I usually associate the “American” hold as 7th from left on the top, and last on the bottom row. I’m sure that’s not a hard and fast rule, but I don’t study Americans. Aside from that none of my friends smoke.

Hands holding cigarettes are really welcome so I’m glad to see them. I believe @18bravo about different people having different ways of holding cigarettes, and now i’m looking back at photos of figures I want to do and noting that…
They probably cost an arm and a leg
