Having produced one post showing a bit of the making of the P1000, but knowing few people actually see the end of those, (so much scrolling…) and having also made the companion P300 afv from the same Model collect Fist of War series, I thought I’d just post a finished article piece. Not only does it show the P1000 finished, but also the P300. Both are, in all honesty, more sci-fi than anything related to reality, but the models are different, interesting and, unlike most afv kits, allow you to do pretty much what you want without bothering about what the real tanks looked like. The P1000 was at least a paper-panzer, a project from the insanity of German leadership in WW2, but the P300 is pure fantasy. Using some of the old-familiar parts from other MC kits, it’;s a large tank-like vehicle, with it’s own ball turret AA gun, a P100 or Maus Turret and a mortar on the front. You can arrange these however you want, and leave some off if you like. The hull is also modular, if you had two kits you could add more sections and make an enlarged version of something like MC’s P500 Gungnir. The wheels and track are borrowed from the 1/35 kits and P1000, while above them you can see are firing ports for infantry being carried to shoot from. At the rear is a drop-down ramp and this was supposed to be to allow the two legged fictional walkers, (think Nazi AT-ST from Star Wars) but the hull isn’t deep enough to allow them to really fit, so when I eventually display these, they’ll be deployed. Still, just another interesting aspect. Photos show the kit beside the much larger P1000. Coming up, the six legged P100 Wotan, an interesting build that just needs painting. Interestingly, while I’ve heard from quite a few people they have these kits, you don’t see many photos on the net of people having finished them. Realistic, no, but they are a fun build.
