FJ43 and Land Rover 88 serie IIa in israeli service

Hi all,

I have these both kits from AK but I am unable to find any reference pictures of the israeli use as proposed by AK. If someone has some information it will help.

Regards

Eric

Welcome to the forum! This won’t help your search, but while I’m thinking about it - a few ridiculous posts about nitroglycerin last week reminded me the movie Sorcerer, which had some very good images of mid 70’s IDf soft skins. Worth a look, and not too terribly bad of a movie.

Not Israeli but a captured Jordanian land rover.

Very interesting pics ! Do you know what is the time frame of these photos ? The FJ-43 look like captured vehicles and not painted in Sinai grey, maybe except the last one ; what do you think ?

The Blazer armor and tracks on this date it to the early 80s:

Makeshift barriers here suggest early Lebanon, 1982:

As pointed above, all the FJs are from the Lebanon operations in 1982. I have somewhere a couple of FJs (which has some detail differences with the later AK kit) with the IDF in the Sinai 1973, probably civilian (either Israeli or Egyptian) impressed units as none of both armies had these officially in use. Can say we could see one or two more FJ kits in the future…

The Land-Rover is from the Yom Kippur War, itself a captured, ex-Jordanian unit from the 1967 conflict.
