In 73 the 59 would be used but the MAG wasn’t as common as the old Browning .30 cals which were in continuous use up until 2005.

If it has the detail level of their previous kits I’ll have two please.

Yeah so I got excited until I realized that It’s just a Dragon YKW IDF M113 rebox with a figure.

I don’t have any instructions to go off of for comparison but this old Armorama post has CAD images which perfectly match the Foreart offering, which sucks because I was honestly excited for a bit.

(It’s really just the dragon kit, for example look at this)

In terms of accuracy though I really think the AFV club offering of this same subject is the best option out there. (I have no idea where to buy it for 50 USD or so, if any of you know where to buy this please let me know where)

The AFV club kit has a bunch of parts and detail compared to the dragon kit’s bare minimum (both pictured below)

(The Dragon kit is missing it’s tools near the rear, a bunch of circle details with bolts on them, two ammo boxes, it’s missing this prominent bulge with a small hatch on the right corner, and a bunch of other small delicate details)

Also the AFV club has an option to add huge binoculars on a stand which I might’ve seen on some vehicles (I just think it looks cool either way), and a smoke mortar (I don’t 100% know if it’s accurate to a YKW vehicle though).

Also concerning the accuracy of the FN MAG being used on IDF M113s during the YKW; from the reference photos I’ve saved from the IDF’s YKW archive (purely for reference and discussion), there were IDF M113s, Sho’t Kal Alefs, and CJ-5 Siyur jeeps purely armed with FN MAGS. I don’t have any photos with any M1919 style MGs though, but I doubt there weren’t any in use (because I don’t have photos of ALL the IDF M113s used during the war)

(The M113 above has a commander FN MAG)

(The M113 above here is only armed with FN MAGS, also there’s a CJ-5 Siyur with a bazooka stored on it)

Also here’s some purely FN MAG armed IDF vehicles from that war.

But FYI there’s SO many good photos and videos on the IDF YKW archive site, it’s all in Hebrew but it’s still translatable. If you like the YKW or IDF armor you should totally check it out, I’ve already gone through all of the photos there taken during the YKW and categorized them based on subject (mainly saved the armored vehicles though); so If you need references or are wondering if something was used just ask me about it, I’d be happy to help! :+1:

Honestly though if Hobbyeasy has it for around 30-40 USD I’d want it, from what I can tell the figure’s pretty perfect for a YKW IDF tanker. He’s not wearing a tanker jumpsuit but I’ve got a ton of photos of IDF tankers wearing the same outfit he’s got on.

These plates welded to the ramp are not well represented by Academy or AFV Club. I wonder it they’ll do any better…

The AFV kit is in my mind the best detailed.

Maybe I’m just prejudice :joy:
