AI car tire inflators are this size now although the noise levels can be high and the time it takes to pump up a tire to 32-40+ pounds can take minutes. Essentially, the smaller the compressor, the more time it takes to pump something up. However, it makes for this in portability, convenience, and lightness and helps on the road if you have a flat tire.

So it should come as no surprise that the small portable AI technology to inflate your car tires translates over to airbrushing. Technically, this might mean that airbrush artists can go “impromptu on-scene” and airbrush in public areas that don’t mind the compressor noise and use the small compressor’s battery power without lugging a huge air compressor with a plug-in cord.

That’s really cool. I could see using this at club meets in conjunction with the fold-away portable spray booth.

I have had a similar -although less capable- one for the last years as my only compressor, and it is much more useful than merely being portable. It does not take much room on your desk, it can be easily stored, it is not noisy and it is perfectly able to paint a large 1/35 kit.

Not having a tank is not an issue, as the air flow is steady.

I am almost completely happy with mine, sometimes I wish it would have some more pressure but that’s all.

This one from Gaahleri looks much better, and is more modern, than mine.
