German Z-26 Destroyer (Dragon 1/350)

Found a few minutes to do a quick and dirty rigging job. Its an amalgamation of about 7 different versions I saw on other peoples Zerstorer kits. I swear every single one had a different rigging layout

It will do the trick when she is in my cabinet.

Just railings to go and those should go on quick!

Launch day is upon us. I was able to find some time to finish up the railings and put down my last layers of gloss/dull coats.

Before anyone says anything, I know there is a broken piece of rigging on the rear mast in the pics. Its already been fixed

So without further ado, here is my Dragon 1/350 Z-26 Zerstörer

I went back and added a few more lines of rigging to the rear mast as it looked a bit bare.

She is not 100% accurate to the plans. I added the Quad 20mm Flak instead of the single 20mm just to add some visual interest. I am also pretty sure the dark grey stripes aren’t dark enough but I am ok with that.

Build wise, typical Dragon. Over engineered with too many fiddly bits. Instructions too busy and often times vague with placement. I also 100% believe that the single 20mm guns are massively overscale

Overall though, she went together well and didn’t present any major headaches.

Thanks for following along and I will see you all for the next one!

Great job on a Dragon kit, really like the Cammo too.

Beautiful DD, Rory - the build and angular camouflage nicely capture the menacing, purposeful look of the German destroyer.

Great build, Rory, tidy, crisp and clean, a fine model doing the Z-26 pride!

I know what you are saying about Dragon instructions and over-engineering…

Congratulations to commissioning, job very well done!

Cheers
