So all that remained to do on the bust was the shirt and then the assembly. So here we have the finished piece.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable bust to paint.

Much appreciated Bert! I can’t make any changes on it now though as it is all varnished! Definitely something to think about when I next tackle arms like this. The veins add that extra bit of detail on figs of this scale- though not something you often see as well sculpted as this bust.

When veins are visible, I usually paint them blue grey first, before putting the flesh glaze over them..
The shovel seems twisted on the handle? Or is that me?
Otherwise: awesome work! After 5 busts, I know how enjoyable and challenging painting busts is…

@golikell- Thanks for the kind words Erwin! The way I tackled these veins was the exact opposite of your method- and there are quite a few other ways to tackle them too. Best way I’ve seen is by Kirill Kanaev- I’m going to give it a try at some point to see how it goes. And yes the shovel is twisted. Prior to painting I straightened both shovel and pick handles- but during the final assembly I realised I hadn’t quite got it right- you can see the piece of rope tying them together doesn’t quite mate up exactly either.
