Only clue for the moment is
‘Cactus’ (i) was the US sub-plan within ‘Watchtower’ concerned specifically with the capture of the area round Lunga Point on Guadalcanal in the Solomon islands group (7 August 1942).

On a side note, Corsairs did not participate in the Guadalcanal campaign proper, as it officially ended on February 9, 1943, while the first F4U equipped unit (VMF-124) arrived to Henderson Field on the night of February 11-12.
