Hairspray Method-Need Refresher

How long do I allow the hairspray to dry before applying the whitewash to be chipped?

How long do I allow the top coat or in this case, the whitewash coat to dry before beginning the chipping process?

I’ve done this successfully before, but its been awhile, any other tips or suggestions appreciated thanks

If using Tamiya paint I would thin it more than usual otherwise it can really stick and be hard to remove. BTDT.

Tojo, I’ve let it sit for days between the hairspray and paint before removing with zero ill effects. Might take slightly longer to remove but to my experience there’s no magic window where once it’s closed your back to square one.

Rather then jumping right on the vehicle,I practiced on the outer road wheels. They still need their pin wash, weathring, and pigments, but I was happy with the results.
Thanks for the help.
