Help with ammo belts

So I’m working on the Dragon Kit 6110 - 1/35th Panzergrenadiers HJ 12th SS.
Two of the figures need ammo belts draped around their necks. The kit has plastic ammo belts.
My question: Best way to get these bent into shape? Hot water? Hair dryer? Or some other technique?
Many thanks in advance for any advice!
Regards,
John S.

I did that with similar figures. I just gently bent and curved them by hand, and with using styrene glue to soften the plastic. In hindsight, I could have used hot water, too, but the ammo belts are small, and I didn’t want to burn my fingers.

I’ll second the vote for hot water. Microwave a small amount. Hold the ammo belt with tweezers at one end. Use an eye dropper filled with hot water on the spot you want to bend. When it gets flexible drape it around the figure. So slow with the water at first. Different plastics behave differently. The reason I prefer the eye dropper is so you can control where the heat goes.

Hot water and hair dryer will both work, just be careful as burned fingers are a possibility.
