Help with lost part for RFM M1A2 SEP V3

Help is needed from 3D printer magicians, scratch builders, and fellow builders!

I mistakenly sacrificed part W56 from the 1/35 RFM M1A2 SEP V3 kit to the Carpet Monster. Despite trying for hours to retrieve it, I was unsuccessful and the Moster kept its price.

Does anyone have any good tips on how to scratch build this one (I tried some scratch building, but Tamiya square and triangle beams did not look very good), or could 3D print it for a reasonable price?

Any advice will be much appreciated!

An angled sliver off a piece of styrene rod or tubing would do it.

Thanks, I did try to make one from beams. W56 is different from C45 part that is used on RFM SEP V2 kit. That one would (I think) be a little easier to make from tubing. The W56 is different and I could not make it to become even to fit the turret side :pensive:

Tubing won’t do it. Create a dome shape, then split it in two.

It’s squared off and angled on the V3

That looks quite easy to replicate in CAD for 3D printing. @Spearhead01 , it’s the outrageous postage that’s the problem…

That one looks doable from a piece of PE scrap if you have one large enough to lay out in one piece and two bends. No doubt many of you could also work in the curve as well.

Is it the same for letter mail?

Letter mail is definitely cheaper around 2 USD vs. 20 USD. The thickness may be OK. Not sure.
Caution though - no tracking and around this time of the year, it will take like 2 months to arrive in Europe from the US…

Yes, I should have relied on my own walk around as opposed to a line drawing.
