This is great news! I’ve read about Bäke’s breakthrough attempt to the pocket of Korsun/Cherkassy in Douglas E. Nash’s book Hell’s Gate (2002). Of all the books that I’ve read about WWII, this one particularly stuck to my mind, as it was such a dramatic episode, though mostly unknown.
