Hi mates!
After almost 11 years(!) of construction, it’s finally finished: the B-17G “Little Miss Mischief” in 1/32 scale from HKM.
Today I would certainly do some things differently during the build, but overall it’s a truly impressive model. Wingspan 100cm, length 73cm.
The aftermarket parts included a metal landing gear and resin wheels from HKM, machine gun barrels from Quickboost, stretchable yarn for the antenna wire and decals from “Kits World.”
However, my model has a “goof” that I stupidly only noticed after I had already applied the decals.![]()
But I found several 1/32 scale counterparts online that have the same goof. So I’m in good company.![]()
To compensate, I also have the “Little Miss Mischief” in 1/72 scale… without the goof!!!![]()
The assembly was no witchcraft. Overall, the kit has a good fit.
I used colors from Humbrol, Revell and Tamiya.
The decals from Kits World were cleanly printed. They were a bit tricky to apply because they tended to tear easily.
Because of the model’s size, I had to improvise when taking photos and couldn’t use my usual camera cube.
The two pictures (airfield and flight scene) were created by using AI image editing software.
In the end, finding the right place for this monster proved to be a major problem. And indeed, there’s only ONE spot in the entire house where it will fit.
Last weekend I had the B-17 with me at an exhibition.Transporting it was really a challenge.![]()
